Overview

Expleo have an opportunity for an experienced aerospace design engineer to support a local OEM customer on existing and development projects, on a hybrid basis at their Belfast premises. The role will involve being responsible for formulating technical solutions for a range of tasks ensuring that design standards and customer requirements are met within your design. 

You will need to be competent and experienced structural design engineer with knowledge of metallic and composite design for primary structures.The role will be a mixture of resolving operational constraints and working on cost saving modifications.  Experience of design to manufacturing and assembly integration to support delivery of design tasks is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Development in Catia V5 -  structural design in support of technical reviews and customer agreed decisions/proposals.
  • Development of the digital mockup.
  • Support to DMMs & ongoing IPDT meetings
  • Storage of files in PLM database
  • Implement technical solutions to ensure they are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Perform all activities at a level of minimal supervision and guide other engineers within the work-package as required.

Essential skills

  • Good Communication
  • Knowledge of aerospace structural design standards and processes.

Experience

  • Experience with working with stakeholders, lead engineers, chief engineers and project managers.
    • CAD Catia V5 
    • MS Office
