Overview

We are looking for Hardware Engineers to drive forward the Defence sector within Electrical and Embedded Systems. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the client project that you support. 

 

The Hardware Engineer will play a vital role in the Hardware development lifecycle by ensuring that hardware solutions are developed in line with defined processes and industry standards to ensure the reliability, safety, and security of the end product.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop real-time embedded Hardware solutions.
  • Participate in various hardware lifecycle methodologies.
  • Manage hardware requirements and traceability using industry best practices.
  • Plan and execute hardware tests
  • Document all aspects of the hardware development process according to company standards.

Qualifications

  • A BEng/BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent in Electronics or similarly related subject.

Essential skills

  • Knowledge of Hardware Design in a Defence environment.
  • Understanding of data communications and networking principles.
  • Experience in hardware design and production of hardware requirements.
  • Familiar with hardware testing tools and techniques.
  • Clear communicator - both written and verbal.

Desired skills

  • Experience working on underwater acoustics and/or sonar.
  • Experience within Systems Engineering
  • The design of equipment for the sub-sea environment.
  • Experience with Design for Cost / Design for Manufacture, manufacturing specifications and transition to production environment.
  • Experience of IVVQ activities.

What do I need before I apply
